The Silverton Arts Festival – An Avalanche of Arts is a celebration of fine arts and crafts, which will be held in the picturesque Silverton Historic District in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. Local, regional and national artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work by participating in this juried show. This event will also include a kick-off to our outdoor Summer Sounds Concert Series.
Silverton is a small historic mining town, located in a high mountain valley along the Million Dollar Highway/San Juan Scenic Byway. The area is popular with recreationists, sightseers and other tourists, and is home to many artists and craftspeople. The Arts Festival will be centered on Notorious Blair Street, the once-infamous “red light district” of Silverton. This part of downtown is lined by colorful Victorian storefronts along the popular pedestrian route, where the historic Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad arrives daily carrying hundreds of visitors. The town has a rustic, laid-back vibe enhanced by its stunning setting with natural mountain beauty on all sides.
Admission to the Festival is free and open to all.
